How we use AI

Last updated August 13, 2026

Where AI appears

AssetAvenue uses AI in three product surfaces today:

  • Ask Avenue— the floating Q&A assistant for Canadian income-property concepts and how to use the desk.
  • Deal search narration — optional prose in Find a deal when a search turns up nothing to list, written after deterministic matching has already run.
  • News reads— on live feed items (Bank of Canada, Statistics Canada, OSFI, CREA), a model drafts the short read and underwriting line from the release. Those cards are labelled “AI read”; the editorial briefs are written by people.

Who processes the prompts

When an API key is configured, prompts are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. Underwriting math, listing filters, and scores are computed in our own code — the model does not invent inventory matches or replace Deal Room numbers. If AI is unavailable, Ask Avenue falls back to curated FAQ answers.

Not advice

AI answers are informational and can be wrong. They are not investment, legal, tax, lending, or medical advice. Verify figures independently. See our Disclaimer and Terms.

Crisis support

If you express thoughts of self-harm or suicide in Ask Avenue or deal chat, we short-circuit the model and point you to 988 (Canada Suicide Crisis Helpline — call or text). In an emergency, call local emergency services.

Privacy

How prompts and account data are handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
